SFTP Sync Integration Guide

The School Information System (SIS) SFTP integration allows you to securely sync school data directly from your SFTP server to the CENTEGIX Visitor Management solution.

This guide walks you through accessing, configuring, and initializing the integration.

Step 1: Contact Support and Access the SFTP Page

  1. Contact Customer Support to inform them that you need to set up the SFTP integration and to obtain the required JSON configuration that will be used later in this document.
    1. Phone: (800) 950-9202, Option 2
    2. Email: support@centegix.com
    3. This JSON code defines how the system identifies and maps your data categories (e.g., students and contacts). It can only be configured and provided by CENTEGIX. If you do not obtain this code from CENTEGIX, you will not be able to complete the integration.
  2. Open the District Manager
  3. From the side navigation, click One Roster App

  1. On the One Roster page, click SFTP from the side navigation.

    1. Alternatively — Go to the following URL: https://oneroster.ccssvm.com/#/settings/{districtAcctNumber}/sftp, replacing {districtAcctNumber} in the URL with your specific district account number.

Important Note: While the SFTP setup page uses a One Roster URL, it will work with any SIS. You do not need One Roster to utilize this integration.

Step 2: Fill out the SFTP Settings and Test

  1. On the SFTP page, click Add New

  1. To establish a successful sync, fill out the following fields under SFTP Client Settings and File Settings, using the table below for reference:

Field Name

Description

Host The address of your SFTP server (e.g., sftp.yourdistrict.org).
Port The network port used for the connection. This is typically 22 by default.
Username The specific SFTP account username provided.
Password The secure password associated with the username above.
Remote Path The specific folder directory on your server where the files are located (e.g., /data/uploads/).
File Pattern Keep this as *.csv to capture all comma-separated files.
  1. Click the Show CSV Mapper link to reveal a plain text box.
    1. This is a critical step for ensuring your data is categorized correctly.

  1. Copy and paste your specific JSON configuration object, provided by CENTEGIX, into the input box.

  1. Once all fields are populated and the CSV mapping has been pasted, click Save.

  1. Click Test Connection to verify that the platform can communicate with your server.
    1. You should see a green message stating that the connection was successful and listing the CSV files present on the server.

  1. Click Go Back to return to the main SFTP page, then continue below.

Step 3: Initialize and Sync
