CENTEGIX-L3 Printer Setup v2 (Web Client)

If Installed, Check Your Current Driver:

If you have already set up the printers using the previous version of the driver (v-2.1.0.1), please be sure to first uninstall this version, as well as remove any current instances of the L3 printer from Control Panel before installing the new version provided in this document (v-2.7.4.0). 

To uninstall the previous version, please try the following: 

  1. In the Windows Start menu, search for “Add or Remove Programs”. 
  2. From the list, uninstall any instance of the v-2.1.0.1 driver. 
  3. Next, navigate to the “Printers and Scanners” settings page. Remove any current instances of the L3 before proceeding with the next instructions in the document.

Driver Installation: 

  1. Download the ‘exe’ file by clicking here.
  2. For this installer, you will need one of the printers powered on and USB-connected to the PC prior to running the installer. 
  3. Double-click to open the ‘exe’ file. Follow any instructions and finish the installation. 
  4. At this point, you may power on and connect any secondary printer.
  5. The visitor printer should be displaying a blue light, while the tardy printer should be displaying a yellow light.

You may run into problems with initial setup. Such as:

A. The printer is loaded with visitor labels, but is displaying a yellow light.

B. The printer is loaded with tardy passes, but is displaying a blue light.

In these cases you will need to run the utility tool, which can be found here

  1. Prior to opening the Utility Tool (application file), make sure you only have plugged in the printer which needs to be reconfigured.
  2. Unzip the folder and run the HPRTUtilityForLabel_Channel.exe file.

Client Setup for Visitor Printing: 

  1. Load visitor paper with the labels facing up. 
  2. Click ‘Add Printer’ – Select LPQ80. Click ‘OK’. 
  3. Highlight the other printer in the ‘Printer List’ pane and click ‘Delete Printer’ so that only the LPQ80 is remaining. 
  4. Next, click ‘Parameter Setting’. 
  5. Set ‘Judge Paper Mode’ to ‘Label.’ 
  6. Set ‘Protocol Type’ to ‘TSP protocol.’ 
  7. Click ‘Set’ when done. This will automatically shut off the printer. Finally, click ‘Quit’ to close the tool. 
  8. In the Client, go to ‘Devices’ and select ‘Add New Device’. Select ‘Generic Printer’. From the ‘Printer’ dropdown, select the printer. (It should be listed as “L-3(TSPL)”
  9. Within the ‘Paper Type’ dropdown, If the printer is loaded with our branded labels with the copyright year 2018, select “Label Long.”

    If the copyright year is 2021 or it is loaded with standard sticker labels, select “Label Standard.”

    If the printer is loaded with our branded thermal tape or is loaded with standard receipt paper, choose “Thermal Tape.”

  10. From the ‘Printer Model’ dropdown, select ‘L3’. 
  11. From the ‘Print Protocol’ dropdown, select ‘Default.’

Client Setup for Tardy Printing: 

  1. Click ‘Add Printer’ – Select LPQ80. Click ‘OK’. 
  2. Highlight the other printer in the ‘Printer List’ pane and click ‘Delete Printer’ so that only the LPQ80 is remaining. 
  3. Next, click ‘Parameter Setting’. 
  4. Set ‘Judge Paper Mode’ to ‘Receipt.’ 
  5. Set ‘Protocol Type’ to ‘ESC protocol.’ 
  6. Click ‘Set’ when done. This will automatically shut off the tardy printer. Finally, click ‘Quit’ to close the tool. 
  7. In the client, create a new instance of ‘Generic Printer.’ 
  8. For ‘Paper Type,’ select ‘Thermal Tape’. 
  9. For ‘Printer Model’, select ‘L3’. 
  10. For ‘Print Protocol,’ select ‘ESC/POS.’ 
  11. Save and test print.
